Founded in Arkansas, Slim Chickens is in the middle of an expansion throughout the Greater Tampa Bay Area. Florida Slims, the franchise group behind the expansion, is continuing its growth with a new location planned for San Antonio. Florida Slims submitted plan review paperwork for a Slim Chickens at 31535 McCabe Road.
The chicken tender chain’s menu features a variety of tenders, wings, sandwiches, and more. Current favorites include the Buffalo Tender Bowl, Chicken & Waffles, and the Chicken Club Sandwich (or Wrap, if you prefer.)
For dessert, Slim Chickens offers milkshakes in flavors like Chocolate, Vanilla, and Oreo. There are also “Jar Dessert” confections like the Chocolate Brownie Pudding Jar Dessert and the Strawberry Cheesecake Jar Dessert.
“Our mission was (and is) simple: to make the best hand-breaded chicken tenders using only the freshest ingredients, served in a friendly atmosphere where people can relax and feel at home,” says the brand’s website.
What Now reached out Friday to co-franchisee Zach Ferrell to inquire about plans for the San Antonio location. Ferrell was not immediately available for comment.
