Founded in Fayetteville, Arkansas, back in 2003, Slim Chickens has grown steadily ever since, surpassing a total of 160 locations as of earlier this year. And now, one of the growing chicken chain’s next stops appears to be New Port Richey. A recently submitted plan review shows a Slim Chickens location opening at 5276 Little Road, near the intersection with River Crossing Boulevard.
The Slim Chickens menu features tenders and wings served with fries, toast, and a selection of sauces that include Ranch, Cayenne Ranch, Slim Sauce, Honey Mustard, Garlic Parmesan, Mango Harbanero, and a whole lot more. It also offers several takes on the chicken sandwich craze, including the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, the Buffalo Ranch Sandwich, and the Chicken Club Sandwich. The restaurant’s southern flare shows up particularly in sides like Fried Okra and Fried Mushrooms, plus the classic Chicken & Waffles.
Behind the chain’s arrival in the Greater Tampa area, which began last year, is local franchisee group Florida Slims, LLC, helmed by Zach Ferrell, Jared Blair, Daniel Haligas, and Brian Lee.
What Now reached out to Zach Ferrell on Monday to inquire about a planned New Port Richey location. Ferrell was not immediately available for comment.
Opening at the 5726 Little Road location, Slim Chickens would join a community of food and beverage outlets that includes Amici Pizza, Hibachi Express, Starbucks, and Sonny’s BBQ.
