St. Pete Rising reported this week on the upcoming debut of SoDough Square Detroit Style Pizza’s Tampa Bay debut, with a soft opening planned on January 23 at 6925 Fourth St. Founded by native Detroiter Robert Bair, SoDough Square already has three locations operating in the Orlando market, and its fourth, in St. Pete, represents the brand’s first expansion outside of eastern Central Florida.

As it happens, however, there’s even more news. This week, Bair told What Now that a second location is also in the offing, this time in Tampa. Bair says it’s opening in April at the corner of Dale Mabry Highway and West Kennedy Boulevard.

“While dozens of pizzerias and Italian eateries serve thin, New York-style or brick-oven pies, only a handful of local shops offer Detroit-style pizzas, known for its thick, yet crispy crust,” notes the St. Pete Rising coverage. Soon, the Tampa Bay area will be able to get it at not one but two SoDough Square locations.

On top of its pizzas, SoDough Square’s menu also features hot dogs, Detroit Cheesy Garlic Bread, Crispy Fried Wings and classic salads like Greek and Caesar. For dessert, there are Detroit Dough Tots: fried dough dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with hazelnut dipping sauce.

“We take great care to use only the finest, freshest, and most flavorful ingredients, ensuring an exceptional culinary experience,” says the SoDough Square website. “Bon Appétit!”
