Wine bar and wine shop Sip is closing up shop in St. Pete Beach at the end of this month in anticipation of a reopening in Downtown St. Petersburg, at 442 Second St N, according to coverage by St. Pete Rising.

Opening there, in a space on the ground floor of the 5th Ave Loft Apartments building, Sip will replace Must Wine Loft, “a European-style wine and cheese destination that closed last year,” the coverage says.

It’ll also be getting a new name: Christiane’s, named for the bar’s owner Christiane Hall. Hall was not immediately available to discuss plans for the move on Thursday. “There’s a lot going on here,” Hall said in a brief phone call with What Now.

As the wine bar and market winds down its operations in St. Pete Beach, it’s not a bad not idea to stop for a glass of wine and see what’s for sale.

“Lots of stuff to let go! We are having an Everything Left sale Friday and Saturday 1-5,” says a post published on Sip’s Facebook page today. “Lots of misc items!!!! Lots of discounted wine.”

You can keep up with the opening by following Sip’s Facebook page.
