Located in Jupiter, super-exclusive restaurant and private club 1000 North was launched the South Florida market by a celebrity-studded list of partners that included basketball legend Michael Jordan. Now, the concept, which is headed up by managing partner Ira Fenton, is coming to Sarasota. Local partner Kevin Daves is bringing 1000 North to the BLVD condo complex in Downtown Sarasota late next year.
“Basically we’re going to follow what we started with, creating a unique hospitality environment based on the ultimate fine dining experience,” Ira Fenton told What Now on Wednesday. “Kevin and his group have been very successful in that market for a long period of time. It’s going to beautiful, somewhere around 8,000 square feet of space over both floors, with a significant wine component—it’s got all the ingredients to be very, very successful.”
“I’m thrilled to collaborate with Ira and his team to create a private dining club unlike anything on Florida’s West Coast,” Kevin Daves, who is known for work on projects like Bradenton’s Concession Golf Club and Sarasota’s Ritz-Carlton said in a statement quoted in coverage by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. “The building may be different, but the quality of food and service will remain consistent with the 1000 North brand. Our members will also have access to a second-floor wine storage facility, making wine a central focus of the experience.”
Fenton says the menu, while comparable to that of the Jupiter location, will be independently put together by a head chef who has yet to be selected.
“The menu will feature prime steaks, fresh seafood, appetizers, salads and desserts, with seasonal local ingredients,” says the Herald-Tribune coverage. “For drinks, it will offer handcrafted cocktails, a selection of beers and an extensive wine collection, in a wine room stocked with rare and premier vintages.”
