According to a plan review filed last Friday, Aug 30, in Lutz, Hillsborough County, a new enterprise dubbed Tampa Steak & Sushi will be moving into the space at 16411 N. Florida Ave that once housed La Yuma Cuban Restaurant, Twisted Rooster Bar & Grill, and The Hang Out.

In a brief phone conversation with What Now Tampa, restaurateur and manager Mark Birkin said the sushi portion of Steak and Sushi Tampa should be opening Sep 21, while launching the steak component is still 30 to 45 days out. Birkin declined to comment further.

Aside from Tampa Steak and Sushi, Birkin opened The Wexford, an Irish pub and grille, last year in Tampa, which is known for its classic Irish meals such as a corned beef melt, shepherd’s pie, and bangers n’ mash.
