Operating out of a commissary kitchen on Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa, Taste of Home Grill has built up a following in Tampa Bay, offering dishes from Jamaican and Southern cuisine. It’s now preparing to launch its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 200 Post Ave SW in Winter Haven, according to a recently submitted plan review.

The Taste of Home Grill menu features Jamaican dishes like Braised Oxtails, Jerk Chicken, and Curry Goat, served with fried plantains, rice, peas, and a choice of two sides. On the Southern Experience side of the menu are dishes like Fried Pork Chops and Fried Chicken, also served with two sides.

Those sides include Coleslaw, Macaroni and Cheese, Green Beans, Callaloo and more. Taste of Home Grill has also offered Specialty Items like Jamaican patties and Boudin Balls. It is not yet known how closely the restaurant’s menu will mirror the one served by Taste of Home thus far.

What Now confirmed the news with a representative of the restaurant on Thursday. The representative was not immediately available for further comment, and What Now is waiting on more information about the brand’s first brick-and-mortar.
