The Flamingo Bean Co., a small-batch roaster founded in Lakeland in 2023, looks to be opening its first brick-and-mortar cafe. This week, What Now examined plan review documents submitted by The Flamingo Bean Company LLC that show the coffee spot opening at 1318 W Daughtrey Road.

“At The Flamingo Bean Company, we are passionate about bringing you the finest coffee and tea from around the world,” says the company’s website. “Our selection features unique blends and single-origin choices, each carefully sourced to ensure exceptional flavor and quality. Whether you prefer the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee or the soothing notes of herbal tea, we have something special for everyone. Join us in exploring the diverse world of beverages that cater to all tastes and preferences.”

What Now reached out on Wednesday to co-owner Wendy Huckery to ask about plans for a Flamingo Bean Co. cafe location. Huckery was not immediately available to discuss the opening.

However, there are hints out there of something exciting developing.

“Happy New Year from Ed, Wendy and ‘Sweet Stella,’” says a post published on Facebook by The Flamingo Bean Co. on January 1. “2026 is going to be a big year for The Flamingo Bean Co. Big announcement coming!”

Could news of an upcoming cafe be that big announcement?
