At the northeast corner of State Road 52 and Watterson Street in Hudson, a new haven for drinks and cigars is preparing to open its doors in the new year. Called The Velvet Shaker & Cigar Lounge, it will open at 7135 State Road 52, Suite 103.
What Now spoke on Wednesday with owner Angela Fairley about the upcoming opening.
“We were looking at January, although it might be closer to February,” Fairley said. “It’s going to be set up like a lounge; it will have a cigar humidor with a lot of our own labels.”
On top of the lounge setting fit for cigars, wine, and more, the Velvet Shaker will feature two golf simulators. It’s a lounge that is at once comfortable and lively, in other words.
A bar will serve drinks, and while the space doesn’t feature a kitchen, you can expect to find cheese charcuterie platters to accompany wine, along with small bites like salads, chips, or (in winter) French onion soup.
Opening in the State Road 52 location, the Velvet Shaker will offer a fresh kind of entertainment to a food and drink community that includes Tailgaters Sports Bar and Grill, Hungry Howie’s Pizza & Subs, and Bagels Galore.
