Sarasota’s Beneva Village Shops appears to be the future home of a new outpost of huge-and-getting-huger smoothie chain Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Founded in Destin in 1993, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has since grown to include more than 1150 locations nationwide, including (as of this April) 182 locations in its home state of Florida.
A plan review submitted by TSC Clark LLC indicates that one of the smoothie franchise’s next stops is at 3406 Clark Road.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe offers indulgent Tropical Treats like the Peanut Butter Cup (peanut butter, banana & chocolate), along with more nutrition-focused Super Veggies smoothies like the Detox Island Green (spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, banana & fresh ginger). Somewhere in between lie Fruit Blends like the Blimey Limey, with strawberries, pineapple, orange juice, and lime, and nutrient-heavy Balanced Fusions like the Triple Berry Oat (strawberries, blueberries, cranberry, multivitamin, ground flaxseed, whole-grain oats, whey protein & Splenda®).
Beneva Village Shoppes is a retail center anchored by a Publix Super Market and located on the southwest corner of the intersection between South Beneva Road and Clark Road. Opening there, Tropical Smoothie Cafe would join a developed food and beverage community that includes Jersey Mike’s Subs, Yokoso Ramen, Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, and Curry Station B Indian Restaurant and Catering.
Behind TSC Clark LLC are franchisees Brad and Jean Freet. What Now reached out to Brad Freet on Tuesday to inquire about a Beneva Village Shoppes Tropical Smoothie Cafe location. Freet was not immediately available for comment.
