A little more than a year ago, What Now reported that local food truck Twisted Rolls was planning on taking its popular Hungarian-style chimney cakes to its first brick-and-mortar location. That location has since made a splash in Temple Terrace, where it opened at 12212 N 56th St., and now Twisted Rolls is building on its success. The brand will soon launch a second location in New Tampa, at 19406 Bruce B Downs Blvd, according to coverage by That’s So Tampa.

What Now reached out this week to Twisted Rolls owner Ibrahem Hasan to ask about plans for the opening—particularly the launch timeline, which That’s So Tampa says is still TBD. Hasan was not immediately available.

“At Twisted Rolls, we’re more than a bakery; we’re a destination for those seeking a unique culinary adventure,” says the Twisted Rolls website. “Whether you’re looking for a cozy spot to relax or a special dessert to celebrate, we offer a blend of tradition and innovation in every bite. Join us for a taste of Hungary and beyond, where every visit is an experience to remember.”

The menu brings together Chimney Cakes and ice cream, offering the chimney cakes (both alone and serving as “cones” filled with ice cream) in nine varieties, which range from Pistachio to Hazelnut, to Oreo, to Fruity Pebbles.

“Our Hungarian Chimney Cakes, or ‘Kürtőskalács’, are just the beginning,” the website says. “Crafted with the finest ingredients, these traditional delights are perfectly paired with creamy ice cream for an irresistible combination. But why stop there? Our menu boasts a variety of treats that cater to every taste: from the rich swirls of our shakes to the light, delicate crepes and waffles, and from the playful mini pancakes to refreshing smoothies and Italian sodas. And let’s not forget the array of smooth ice cream flavors waiting to be savored.”
