A new gathering place is coming together in Tampa at 301 S. Falkenburg Ave. It’s called The Garrison House.
“A place is taking shape,” says an Instagram post by The Garrison House published about three weeks ago. “Where work and conversation mix with good company. Where ideas move as easily as coffee pours. Where food isn’t an afterthought and community isn’t a slogan. Something collaborative. Something shared. Something we’re calling the Garrison House.”
Reading this rather open-ended description set next to a black-and-white photo of a building that The Garrison House will call home, it may seem hard to nail down exactly what the concept is. Appropriately, the building looks just a little too big to be simply a cafe—indeed The Garrison House does appear to be much more than that.
Another post describes WMX Management Group, the “operational backbone” heading up the Garrison House. WMX is itself headed up by Co-Founder and President of Development & Growth Jason Smith.
Still another post shines more light on the Garrison House project: a restaurant/cafe that will “give Harrison House its daily rhythm,” making it “a place where people want to gather.” It’s called Two Fold Coffee & Kitchen, a café that “brings an elevated food and coffee experience rooted in community.”
The most recent post includes renderings of the Garrison House and its interior: they show a luxurious, homey atmosphere, workspaces, a kitchen, and a conference table.
What Now reached out to Jason Smith on Friday to ask about plans for Two Fold Coffee & Kitchen and Garrison House. Smith was not immediately available for comment.
