Chez Nad by Nadège, a modern French bistronomie restaurant from Nadège Patisserie founder Nadège Nourian, is getting ready to open in Toronto at 780 Queen Street West.
The new restaurant, located at the rear of the redesigned Nadège Patisserie, will serve as the brand’s flagship, according to Retail Insider. Chef Laura Maxwell, with over 20 years of experience in French kitchens in Toronto, will lead the kitchen. Chez Nad by Nadège is set to open for dinner service on Friday, February 6, 2026, with reservations launching in January. Customers can expect a combination of cafe service, retail pastries, cocktails, and full-service French dining.
Founded in late 2009, Nadège Patisserie grew from a single location in Trinity Bellwoods to multiple shops across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Past and present locations include Queen Street West, Rosedale, the PATH financial district, Bloor-Annex, and Yorkdale Shopping Centre. Nourian, a fourth-generation pastry chef from Lyon, France, trained alongside Meilleurs Ouvriers de France and held leadership roles in London at The Ivy and Yauatcha Patisserie before returning to Canada.
Chez Nad by Nadège integrates retail, cafe, cocktail bar, and restaurant formats in one cohesive space. The Queen Street West location features warm wood finishes, intimate lighting, communal seating, and French artisanal design references, blending the pastry shop, cafe, and dining room into a single experience. Initially focused on dinner, the concept is planned to expand into an all-day operation from morning through evening.
The menu embraces French culinary tradition with a bistronomie approach, featuring seasonal dishes such as salade niçoise prepared crudo-style, mini quenelles Lyonnaises, French onion soup, ravioles du Dauphiné, cordon bleu styled as fried chicken, escargots with parsley foam, and steak frites with shallot jus and tarragon aioli. Ingredients are locally sourced where possible, and the wine and cocktail programs are curated to pair with the food.
This will be an excellent landing space for Chez Nad by Nadège, considering Queen Street West’s vibrant dining scene and foot traffic. The restaurant aims to serve as a destination for French cuisine in Toronto, combining Nourian’s pastry expertise with modern bistronomie, while also offering a casual cafe and cocktail experience.
