Grandma Loves You, a Toronto-based sandwich shop mini-chain known for its jam-packed subs and gourmet hot dogs, is getting ready to open a new location at 901 King St. W. in Toronto’s King Street West neighborhood.
The company’s newest location is set to open on February 21 at the base of the 901 King Apartment Buildings, according to YourCityWithin. The family-run establishment has built a strong following for its creative menu and detailed approach to service. While details about the former tenant were not immediately available, the King Street West shop will mark the brand’s fifth Toronto location. Customers can expect the same lineup of signature sandwiches, German rye bread clubs, and globally inspired hot dogs.
Grandma Loves You currently operates at 40 St Clair Ave. W., 111 Richmond St. W., 42 Wellington St. E., and 846 Sheppard Ave. W. Since launching, the concept has gained recognition from Yelp, Toronto Life, and Breakfast Television, which have named it among Canada’s top-rated restaurants. The brand has steadily expanded its presence in high-traffic downtown corridors and neighborhood hubs.
The shop offers both hot and cold items, with a menu that includes croissants, fresh deli single-meat cold-cut sandwiches, hot sandwiches, salads, and a range of specialty drinks. Its hot dog program stands out for its variety and customization options, giving customers the ability to build their own combinations.
Notable creations include the French hot dog served on a croissant bun with brie and jam, the Italian dog topped with pesto, melted mozzarella, and tomato, and the Persian dog layered with tomato, onion, mozzarella, pickles, mushroom, ketchup, and homemade sauce. The Sweden dog features fried onion, ketchup, pickles, and mustard.
With franchising now underway, the King Street West opening signals continued growth for the brand as it looks to expand further across Toronto and beyond.
