Hale Muskoka, an innovative and design-forward culture and events destination that combines food, markets, design, arts, and entertainment, is getting ready to make its debut at 1160 Bethune Drive N. in Gravenhurst.

Nestled on a historic five-acre farm in the charming town of Gravenhurst, visitors can savour bites from an array of food trucks, shop local artisan and farmers markets, enjoy live music and art installations, roam serene gardens, and partake in diverse programming, according to a press release. Inspired by the pristine natural surroundings and the passionate community of artists, growers, and makers, Hale Muskoka was intentionally designed for locals, cottagers, and tourists seeking authentic, memorable experiences that celebrate the outdoors. The thoughtful new multi-use hub will feature engaging culinary experiences, health and wellness events, food trucks, alfresco dining areas, themed farmers’ markets, and more.

“Hale Muskoka brings guests on an interconnected journey activated by greenery, wood, stone, metal, and fire, providing an idyllic background for celebrating all of life’s special moments,” Manny Neubacher, creative director, Hale Muskoka, said in a press release. “Hale Muskoka is poised to be a truly unique year-round destination featuring the best Ontario has to offer.”

In Summer 2026, the team will expand its offerings and open two indoor event spaces: a 1,900-square-foot barn and a 1,800-square-foot grange. Designed with a contemporary country aesthetic, the event spaces will provide picturesque indoor and outdoor backdrops for gatherings of all sizes, from weddings to corporate events and everything in between. The property will also feature specially designed indoor and outdoor kitchen facilities, an outdoor stage, and performance areas – all accessible through naturally meandering paths dotted with art and design installations.

To kick off its opening on Sunday, August 10, Hale Muskoka is hosting its first annual Smash & Sear: Best in Burger Competition, in partnership with Broil King and Rowe Beef. At the lively Fire and Feast culinary event, celebrity chefs will showcase their grilling skills and compete for the coveted title of “Best Smash Burger.” This year, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in and engage with burger royalty, featuring top-tier Canadian chefs, including Paul Boehmer, Joe Friday, Bradley Yip, Melanie Robinson, and Roger Moore. Attendees will also enjoy savoring a curated selection of regional beverages, browsing an artisan market, and listening to live music from local musicians. Tickets include slider samples from all chefs, drinks, and sweets, and are available for purchase online for $40.

“We are building a natural gathering space in the heart of Muskoka to bring people together – from celebrating special occasions to discovering unique items in the markets to savouring delicious food and drinks,” Eric Abugov, founder of Hale Muskoka, said in a press release. “Hale Muskoka will embody what makes this area so special. We worked in harmony with the natural surroundings to curate spaces that provide connected retail, dining, and event experiences. It will become a one-of-a-kind hub that fosters community and connection, including a commitment to supporting local vendors, suppliers, and local initiatives.”
