Jersey Mike’s, the popular sub sandwich chain known for its high-quality ingredients and freshly sliced subs, is expanding in Ontario with new locations in the Greater Toronto Area.

The new stores are scheduled to open soon at multiple sites, including 9781 Jane Street in Maple, 287 North Front Street in Belleville, 17725 Yonge Street in Newmarket, and 1485 LaSalle Boulevard in Sudbury. A representative from the company tells What Now Toronto that the Maple, Newmarket, and Belleville sites will all be operated by Redberry Restaurants. The Maple and Newmarket locations are both expected to open in Spring 2026, while the Belleville site will open in Summer 2026.

In January 2024, Redberry Restaurants was named Jersey Mike’s Subs Area Director for Canada with a development agreement to open 300 locations across the country in 10 years, marking the brand’s first major international expansion and a partnership that began with Redberry’s first Jersey Mike’s opening in Markham, Ontario, in August 2024, and has since grown to 21 locations in Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Jersey Mike’s continues its expansion across Canada, offering customers its signature sub sandwiches made with fresh-baked bread, premium meats, and the signature “Mike’s Way” combination of lettuce, onions, tomatoes, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and spices

Jersey Mike’s was founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, by Mike, who created the concept of the submarine sandwich in a small, local shop. In 1971, Peter Cancro, then 17, purchased the business and expanded it into a nationwide franchise. In 1987, the company changed its name to Jersey Mike’s Subs to emphasize its authentic New Jersey roots. Today, the company boasts over 4,000 locations worldwide, with its Canadian expansion contributing to the brand’s growing popularity in North America.

The new Ontario locations will offer Jersey Mike’s full menu of hot and cold subs, including favorites like the Club Sub, the Philly Cheese Steak, and gourmet wraps. Each sandwich is prepared right in front of customers to ensure the freshest ingredients and highest quality possible. Jersey Mike’s continues to emphasize its commitment to quality by using premium meats and cheeses, all sliced in-store daily, to create the best possible sub sandwich experience.
