Swiss chocolatier Läderach is expanding its Canadian footprint with a new boutique at 110 Bloor Street West, marking the brand’s first non-mall location in Canada and a significant move onto the country’s premier luxury retail corridor.
The new storefront is expected to open by the end of 2025, occupying a narrow 1,000-square-foot space between Winners/HomeSense and Alexander Wang, according to Retail Insider. The location is managed by Salthill Capital and owned by ProWinko, and has recently attracted major international brands. Saint Laurent opened a 10,000-square-foot flagship in the same building last year.
The boutique will feature the brand’s signature FrischSchoggi, large slabs of artisanal Swiss chocolate broken fresh to order, along with an assortment of pralines, truffles, seasonal creations, and single-origin bars, all crafted in-house from bean to bar in Switzerland.
Läderach entered the Canadian market in 2019 with its flagship at CF Toronto Eaton Centre and has since expanded to Yorkdale, Square One, and York Mills Centre. Along with the Bloor Street boutique, two additional locations are set to open this month. CF Sherway Gardens will serve shoppers in West Toronto, while CF Richmond Centre in British Columbia will mark Läderach’s first store in that province.
Founded in 1962 in Ennenda, Switzerland, Läderach now operates more than 200 stores across 21 countries, including a flagship on New York’s Fifth Avenue. Its vertically integrated model, from cocoa bean sourcing to final production, helps distinguish the brand in a competitive premium chocolate market.
No official opening date for the Bloor Street store has been announced, but the launch is expected before the 2025 holiday season.
