More Gelato & Caffe, a new gelato shop and cafe, is getting ready to open in Toronto at 392 Pacific Avenue.

The company’s debut location is set to move into the former home of Famous Last Words, a neighborhood bar known for its literary theme, according to BlogTO. Although an exact opening date has not yet been announced, public updates suggest that the business is nearing completion. The concept will feature house-made gelato and cafe offerings served in a casual setting.

More Gelato & Caffe is led by husband-and-wife duo Ajay Fry and Zaira Gaudio. Fry is a Canadian television personality with previous roles on CTV News, CP24, etalk, and YTV’s Crunch. Gaudio is a co-founder of Curious Cannabis Co. and vice-chair of the Retail Cannabis Council of Ontario. This will be their first venture in the food and beverage space.

The couple has reportedly been developing the idea for a gelateria for several years, eventually pursuing formal training at the University of Guelph’s ice cream program. The shop will focus on small-batch gelato production, utilizing ingredients made in-house. Coffee and light cafe fare will also be available.

Located in the Junction, the cafe will serve a residential and retail-heavy area known for its foot traffic and community-focused businesses. The space previously occupied by Famous Last Words has been undergoing renovations to prepare for the new concept.

More Gelato & Caffe will focus on freshness and quality, with a rotating menu of gelato flavors made on-site. The owners plan to position the cafe as a year-round destination for gelato and coffee lovers in the neighborhood.
