NORTH Wine & Cocktail Co., a Canadian-owned wine and cocktail bar, is getting ready to open a new location in downtown Haileybury.
Co-owner Jessy Genier tells WhatNow Toronto that the bar is currently under renovation and is expected to open in Summer 2026. Customers can expect elevated yet approachable tapas and bar snacks designed for sharing, including cheese and charcuterie, small plates, and other bites that pair with curated wine, beer, and cocktails. The space will also feature a private back area for events, a grab-and-go section, and a wine club.
NORTH Wine & Cocktail Co. is the evolution of Genier’s earlier venture, NORTH + NEST, an online boutique started in 2020 that focused on Canadian-made goods, wine tastings, and local events. The brand grew organically with strong community support, and the new Haileybury location will provide a permanent space for tastings, curated cocktails, and private gatherings.
Genier and her sister, a certified sommelier and wine educator, are leading the project. The sisters will bring their combined hospitality and wine expertise to the new bar, offering a welcoming environment for both casual visits and events. Genier will be hands-on in running daily operations, curating the beverage program, and organizing community events.
The menu emphasizes shareable dishes that pair with beverages, such as small plates, tapas, and classic wine accompaniments. Drinks will include curated wines, craft cocktails, and a rotating selection of beers. The private event space and wine club are designed to support everything from social gatherings to corporate functions. This will be an excellent landing space for NORTH Wine & Cocktail Co., giving Haileybury residents a dedicated neighborhood venue for wine, cocktails, and casual dining while maintaining the brand’s focus on community and locally inspired hospitality.
