Piccolo Piano Pizzeria, the pizza-focused venture from Chef Victor Barry, owner of the popular Piano Piano restaurant, has officially closed its doors to give the company room to expand its other concepts.
The restaurant officially closed its doors at the end of April, according to BlogTO. Launched initially as an online venture and later transitioning to a takeout counter at Chefs Hall, the pizzeria settled at 89 Harbord Street across from the original Piano Piano location. Known for its puffy-crusted pizzas and unique dishes like mozzarella sticks with caviar, the restaurant’s closure was part of a strategic move to focus on the growth of the Piano Piano brand, which recently expanded with two new Toronto locations and plans to open in Hamilton. Despite the closure, fans can still enjoy Piano Piano’s signature pizzas at their other Toronto locations in Harbord Village, Mount Pleasant, Bloorcourt, and Leslieville.
While it’s unclear exactly where this new Piano Piano in Hamilton is set to land, Brendan Piunno, Chief Operating Officer of Piano Piano, tells What Now Toronto that the new location recently completed construction and contractors are expected to finish by mid-June 2025. Given the nature of inspection and city planning, an exact opening date couldn’t be provided. The new Piano Piano in Hamilton follows another recently opened location in Toronto at 1006 Bloor Street West, adjacent to the restored Paradise Theatre.
Piunno tells What Now that this new Hamilton location will feature the same menu and ambiance as the other six locations, offering its signature Italian menu featuring dishes like pasta, pizza, and other classic options. The restaurant will maintain its focus on high-quality ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere. Customers can expect the same stylish, modern decor that has become a hallmark of its other locations. With this new expansion, Piano Piano continues to build on its reputation for great food and a vibrant dining experience.
