Shelby’s Legendary Shawarma, an Ontario-based restaurant blending Middle Eastern and global flavors, is getting ready to open two new locations in Ontario.

The first will open in Brampton at 15 Sandalwood Parkway on November 3, operated by franchise owners Hitesh and Tarun. The second will open in Sudbury at 840 Notre Dame Avenue, expanding the brand’s footprint across Ontario. The Brampton restaurant will move into a newly developed retail plaza on Sandalwood Parkway. The Sudbury location’s official opening date has not yet been announced.

Both locations are part of Shelby’s broader plan to strengthen its presence in key regional markets. Customers can expect the brand’s popular shawarma wraps, bowls, and fusion dishes served in a fast-casual setting that accommodates both dine-in and takeout.

Shelby’s Legendary Shawarma was founded in London, Ontario, by friends Yazan and Yasser, who began selling shawarma from a small food trailer. The concept quickly gained attention for its creative approach to traditional Middle Eastern street food. The pair opened their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2015, introducing a menu that blends classic recipes with modern culinary influences.

Over the past decade, Shelby’s has grown to more than 35 locations across Ontario and Quebec, including sites in Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, and Quebec City. The company has expanded primarily through franchising, focusing on operational consistency, customer accessibility, and maintaining its commitment to Halal-certified ingredients. Each new location continues the brand’s mission of redefining shawarma for a broader audience.

Shelby’s menu highlights shawarma wraps, rice bowls, and fusion items like Shawarma Biryani, Mac and Cheese Shawarma, and Bacon Caesar Shawarma Wrap. Sides include Zaatar Fries, Garlic Potato Boutine, and Halloumi Fries, with desserts such as Kunafa and Lebanese Churros.

The upcoming Brampton and Sudbury openings highlight Shelby’s determination to bring its innovative take on shawarma to more communities across Canada. With each new location, Shelby’s strengthens its position as a leader among Ontario’s fast-casual shawarma chains, signaling its commitment to redefining the shawarma experience and reaching new heights in the industry.
