Sunset Grill, a Canadian breakfast-and-lunch restaurant known for its “Fresh is Tastiest” philosophy, is preparing to open new locations in Huntsville, Kanata, and Toronto.
The company’s upcoming restaurants are planned for Hwy 60 and Hwy 11 in Huntsville, Campeau Drive and Palladium Drive in Kanata (both scheduled for Spring 2026), and Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue in Toronto (opening in Summer 2026), according to the company’s website. A representative from the company tells What Now Toronto that the franchisee behind the Kanata location owns the Brockville store at 2511 Parkedale Avenue. When these sites open, customers can expect Sunset Grill’s full breakfast and lunch menu at each new restaurant.
Sunset Grill was founded in 1985 in the Beaches neighborhood of Toronto by Angelo Christou. The brand grew quickly by focusing on fresh, cooked-to-order meals and fast service. Nearly four decades later, the company continues using the same approach that helped build its customer base. Its steady expansion has brought the concept to communities across Ontario and into select markets outside the province.
The restaurant prepares all dishes on flat top grills and avoids deep frying, keeping the menu consistent with its original methods. Popular items include bacon and three eggs, omelettes, pancakes, and the chain’s Sunset Burger. The company also remains active in community work and was recognized with the 2025 Outstanding Corporate Citizen Award from the Canadian Franchise Association for its charitable efforts.
These upcoming Huntsville, Kanata, and Toronto locations fall in high-traffic areas that support morning and mid-day dining. This will be an excellent landing space for Sunset Grill as it continues expanding across Ontario. A company representative added that the teams behind the openings are working to finalize schedules.
