Tim Hortons, the national coffee and fast food chain, is getting ready to open a new location in Toronto’s Annex neighborhood at 526 Bloor Street West.
The new location is set to move into the former home of Szechuan Noodle Bowl, a longtime neighborhood staple known for its hand-pulled noodles and Szechuan-style dishes, according to BlogTO. The restaurant permanently closed earlier this year, marking the end of its only location in Toronto. Tim Hortons signage has already been installed at the site, although an official opening date has not yet been announced. What Now Toronto reached out for additional details, but was directed to the company’s corporate office for more information.
Tim Hortons has a significant presence across Canada, with over 3,500 locations nationwide and dozens concentrated in the Greater Toronto Area. The new Annex location will offer the company’s standard menu, featuring coffee, breakfast items, baked goods, and hot food options such as wraps and sandwiches. While there’s no confirmed opening date, signage posted at the location indicates that the company is currently hiring for various positions.
Szechuan Noodle Bowl had built a loyal customer base over the years, drawing locals and visitors alike to its affordable menu and convenient location near Bathurst Station. Its closure follows a trend in the area, where national chains have increasingly replaced independent restaurants. The new Annex Tim Hortons will join multiple other nearby locations, including shops at Bloor and Spadina and Bloor and Christie, both of which are less than a kilometer away.
