Baloney, a new gourmet sandwich shop, is set to open its doors in Quebec at 545 Saint-Jean Street.
The restaurant will take over the former Bols et Poké space, which closed in February 2025, according to Silo57. The new concept is being led by Ben Lacourse, a former chef at Limoilou’s Cendrillon, who has been dreaming of opening a sandwich shop for the past 12 years. Lacourse tells What Now Toronto, “If all goes well, we’re aiming for the end of November or the beginning of December!”
The menu will feature a unique take on comfort food, with gourmet sandwiches, hot dogs, homemade fries, tacos, and a special dessert version of the popular Blizzard treat. Baloney aims to become the best sandwich spot in town, blending creativity with top-quality ingredients for an offbeat dining experience.
To support the opening, the company previously launched a crowdfunding campaign, offering backers a range of perks, including free food, exclusive merchandise, and gift cards. Lacourse’s goal is to bring a fun and festive atmosphere to the area, combining his years of culinary expertise with a passion for bold, inventive flavors.
Baloney’s unique menu and festive vibe are set to attract locals and visitors alike, looking for an unconventional dining experience in Quebec. The shop will focus on both high-quality ingredients and creativity, making it a noteworthy addition to the city’s food scene.
