For Joyce Huynh and her husband Justin Nguyen, opening a Vietnamese restaurant in Del Mar has been a dream they’ve shared for many years. That dream is soon to become a reality.
“My husband has a love for cooking,” she said. “I have a love of food and he’s able to bring it to life and we want to bring that to the community.”
The new spot, Vietnamese eatery Xin Chao, will be 1,800 square feet in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center on Del Mar Heights Road, according to permits filed with the city.
Along with Milano pizza restaurant Ambrogio 15, Marufuku Ramen, and Sushiya, Xin Chao hopes to bring a new option for Del Mar shoppers.
She hopes to open in the summer of 2021 with a full-service style restaurant with a variety of Vietnamese specialties. She thinks Pho will be among the favorite entrees.
“We both love Vietnamese food. It’s healthy cuisine, flavorful and everyone can eat it,” she said. “It’s great food and we want to share it with the community.”
