Bird Rock Coffee Roasters wants to continue to serve the best coffee from local producers at a new location on Kettner Boulevard.

“It’s going to be a beautiful cafe,” Bird Rock Coffee Roasters President and Co-Owner Jeff Taylor said. “Two blocks from the Waterfront Park, which is fantastic. It should be a great new location for us.”

With six locations in the area, including spots in Little Italy, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Morena, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is planning for further expansion. Taylor said they are also looking at a spot in Liberty Station.

The new location on Kettner Boulevard will be in Kettner & Ash, a 123,000 square-foot, 7-story, office building in downtown San Diego.

Priding itself as farm to cup, Bird Rock Coffee offers direct trade coffee and works directly with farms at the origin to secure great coffee. Customers can choose between single-origin coffee, blends, roasts, and more.

Recognized as the Roaster of the Year in 2012, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters wants to put premiere coffee on the map in San Diego.

Taylor said he hopes to open in the new 2,800-square-foot space sometime this summer.
