Revolution Roasters made its start as a coffee roaster supplying shops in Southern California like Coffee Coffee. But in 2015 the company transformed—Revolution Roasters became Oceanside’s first specialty coffee roaster and café. Six years later, after much success and a loyal following, ‘Revo’ is planning to grow again.

The Café’s owner Miriah Scheibe recently filed a permit, indicating expansion to 4079 Oceanside Blvd, Suite C, a move slightly inland from the company’s current location at 1836 S Coast Highway. Situated in the Rancho Del Oro Business Center development, the location will likely be used for roasting beans and conducting business, rather than playing host to customers. Scheibe was not immediately available for comment Wednesday.

While Revolution Roasters is a family-owned business, they also tout the importance of community. The coffee company is “so happy to be nestled…in Oceanside.” And from what we can tell, they are there to stay.

“The deliciousness is in the details” claims the company’s Facebook page.  Revo only uses products from Straus Organic Dairy, a small California-based farm, for all of their milk-based drinks. The company’s Instagram provides a peek into the delicious non-coffee items they offer as well, from white bean veggie sandwiches to Italian sandwiches with home-made romesco, arugula, and salami. All sandwiches are made in-house daily.

The coffee company continues to sell their blends and roasts, as well as coffee brewed in-house. “Smooth Operator” is a well balanced espresso blend of Brazil, Mexico, and Papua New Guinea beans, while “Giant’s Head” is a blend intended to “take you back.” With balanced sweetness and low acidity, this timeless medium-dark roast is made with Mexico and Papua New Guinea beans

If there’s one thing I miss about pre-COVID times, it’s finding a new café,  bringing a good book, and indulging in a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee (and, let’s be honest, some kind of chocolatey pastry). So it’s great news that not only has Revolution Roasters flourished in the last few years, they’ve also been able to expand their operations.
