Born in the heart of Barrio Logan, the seven and a half-barrel system and 22-tap tasting room and restaurant, Attitude Brewing Co., has been going strong for over two years now. Owner and head brewer Kurt Bach moved from Portland, Oregon to Southern California with dreams of opening his own brewery after years of garnering home-brewing experience. In 2018, his dream became a reality.
“Bach’s interest in beer started in the early ‘80s when the Northwest micro-revolution was in full effect,” says Attitude Brewing Co.’s website. The brewery now makes all their own ‘phenomenal’ brews. Some of these flagship brews include ‘Intense,’ a hazy New England IPA; ‘Stellar,’ a west coast IPA; and ‘Jubilant,’ a tangerine blonde ale. They also pour lagers, pilsners, and stouts.
Sandiegoville reported that the North Park location will be within North Park’s Brewery Ignited building, on 30th street, while the Chula Vista location will be at 221 Third Avenue and will open as a “South Country tasting room and restaurant in partnership with San Diego Sliders Company.”
Bach was unavailable for comment at the time of this article, so we can’t currently offer a timeline for the openings of these locations; just know that Attitude Brewing Co. will soon be dispensing some ‘Electrifying customer service,’ ‘Loving diversified culture,’ and, of course, ‘Phenomenal brews’ in North Park and Chula Vista.
