Yup, you read that right—two-time winner of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, Little Cakes Kitchen, has moved into the Gelson’s bakery at its Pacific Beach location. Gelson’s recently expanded their partnership with the Vista-based bakery, and the takeover begins today.
If you head over on May 12th, you’ll have access to “BOGO specials, raffles, giveaways, and more” to celebrate the grand-opening, Aleaha Kopec, account exec. at Chemistry PR, wrote to What Now San Diego.
According to a press release Kopec shared with What Now San Diego, Little Cakes sweets are “baked from scratch and [use] the finest ingredients…The bakery is now open and is serving up its famous eclectic cupcakes in addition to full-size cakes, cheesecakes, pies, cookies, and other baked goods.”
Bakery owners, Don and Becky Hein, started the bakery way back in 2010. According to their website, “expanding into the Gelson’s family has been an amazing experience.” The website goes on, “But regardless of where the product is sold, the philosophy remains the same. ‘Our goal is to have customers walk in and feel like they entered a friend’s home.’ ”
The family-owned and operated Little Cakes Kitchen now has four locations throughout San Diego.
So head over to the Pacific Beach Gelson’s today to sample the ‘Tuxedo,’ a chocolate cake dipped in white chocolate ganache. With over 100 rotating cupcake flavors, there’s bound to be something sweet and delectable waiting for you.
