Del Mar Highlands Town Center is bringing SoCal a premiere culinary destination in the form of Sky Deck, a restaurant collective that will open this spring. Among the many restaurants setting up shop in Sky Deck, will be the second location of Chef Caesar Huerta’s Craft House, the North Park eatery that serves up handcrafted burgers, tacos, and seafood.
Craft House Sky Deck will have its own dining area as well as a full bar with craft cocktails. The menu will differ a bit from the North Park location’s menu. While the lunch menu will stay constant, with sandwiches and burgers—which by the way, are made with beef ground fresh in-house daily—Chef Huerta says to expect a refined, casual dinner experience.
“We’re going to elevate our offerings with a lot more seafood options,” Chef Huerta told What Now San Diego. Some of the new menu items will include a whole grilled branzino, charred octopus, steamed mussels, and 36 oz tomahawk steaks. “It’ll be a little more refined,” Chef Huerta added.
According to the eatery’s website, Craft House offers “New American cuisine with Mexican fusion…in a brewpub setting.” Ingredients tend to be local and artisan, and the restaurant uses all-natural products in their meal preparations: “We embrace the idea of localism to strengthen our community as well as our preference for products that are sustainable.”
Chef Huerta says, pending any unforeseen circumstances, Craft House Sky Deck hopes for a soft opening no later than June 15th.
