Brown Butter Southern Kitchen and Bar Making Plans to Open a New Location

Brown Butter Southern Kitchen and Bar plans to open a new location, according to a recent post on the eatery’s Facebook page. The eatery hasn’t released a time frame for opening, or an official address for the new location yet. And even though it appears to be early days in the process of opening that new location, there seems to be strong support from the restaurant’s customer base, as the post has garnered over 100 reactions from followers along with numerous positive comments.

As detailed on its website, Brown Butter Southern Kitchen and Bar was founded in 2015 by chef Dayne Womax and Simon Beck. The establishment’s food offerings feature cuisine from all over the South, utilizing fresh, local ingredients. 

The online menu boasts items like a pimento cheese burger, oher burger choices include a brunch burger along with a bacon cheddar burger. Other main course selections include half a chicken smothered in gravy and served with rice, smoked brisket and red beans and rice. There are also salads and appetizers including fried pickles, artichoke dip and poutine. And brunch lovers can rejoice, as there is a brunch menu that features items like shrimp and grits, Belgian waffles and eggs benedict.

Drink selections include fountain beverages, iced tea, rotating draft and canned beers, as well as wines. The house made cocktails are just diverse as the food offerings and include unique takes on classics like mules, margaritas and old fashioneds. 

The eatery closed in late May due to the owners of the eatery’s then space wanting to convert it into a medical facility, according to previous reporting by a New Orleans based media outlet. What Now Nola reached out to Beck for a timeline for opening or other details, such as the menu, but Beck was not ready to comment on updates at the time of this article’s publishing.
