Panda Express has filed plans in Sacramento for a site plan and design review permit on 3801 Northgate Blvd near the Interstate 80 interchange for a proposed Panda Express location in Natomas, joining existing eateries in the area, including McDonald’s, Carl’s Jr., Taco Bell, and IHOP. The address was previously filed for a new Sonic Drive-in location, but the plan fell through.
The proposed location will include a 2,400-square-foot, one-story restaurant with a drive-thru window and 22 off-street parking spaces. The plan also includes the associated site development of a vacant lot. The new store will incorporate Panda Express’s latest Panda Home concept. The exterior will focus on natural colors, composite wood finishes, dark stone veneer, and metal roof elements. Meanwhile, the inside of the restaurant would implement wood interiors, a moon gate-inspired entrance, vibrant neon signs, and other cultural elements.
Panda Express is a family-owned and family-operated Asian American food chain with over 2,300 throughout the U.S., with 600 locations in California, 40 of which are in the Greater Sacramento area. The menu features classic American Chinese dishes, including orange chicken, Beijing beef, Mandarin chicken, fried rice, steamed rice, and more. Panda Express is owned by Rosemead-based Panda Restaurant Group Inc.
