A lot has been going on with Sacramento’s local eatery Bento Box lately as current owners, Bento Box Enterprise Inc. sues former partner Jonathan Kim for trade dress infringement and violating the California Unfair Business Practices Act. Regardless of the turmoil, Bento Box is on track to open a new location in The Shops at Folsom Ranch, hopefully by the end of the year.

Known for delicious teriyaki plates, sushi rolls, and other light Japanese lunchbox items, Bento Box currently operates three other locations in the Sacramento area, including near Sacramento State University, Midtown, and Arden-Arcade.

Bento Box is set to occupy a 4,501-square-foot space on the northeast corner of the center. The chain originally anticipated to open in late September or early October of this year, but has since faced a few delays. However, as Capriotti’s set to be the first retailer to open at The Shops, Bento Box is anticipated to follow and open soon after, most likely by the end of this year or at the beginning of 2024.

By the time of this coverage, a representative from Bento Box was not available for comments. Currently, there is no detailed address or suite number available for Bento Box at The Shops at Folsom Ranch.
