Why do some franchise restaurants pop up all over the place and some seem to stagnate? Part of the reason is the experience that franchisees have with a brand. In Lafayette, Lindsay Horn and her family had such a positive experience with their first Baskin-Robbins franchise, they’re opening a second location in nearby Youngsville.

“Baskin-Robbins is a really good group to work with,” Horn recently told What Now New Orleans. “I’ve worked with (a popular sandwich franchise brand) before and I feel that Baskins-Robbins is just better to deal with.”

While positive experience with the brand is one factor for franchisees, another big factor is location. Lindsay’s husband Jarid Horn said the location in Youngsville at 1911 Chemin Metairie Parkway was critical to their decision to open another location.

“Youngsville’s population isn’t very high, but everything going on around that location is blowing up,” he explained. “There’s a park that brings in a lot of travel teams for soccer, baseball, and other sports. There’s also three schools with a few thousand kids going to school right there.”

The new location will have nearly 1,400 square feet of space and a drive-thru. A projected opening date is set for July.
