The team behind Rancho Tequileria, a place where guests can celebrate and truly enjoy the experience of Mexican cuisine and a wide variety of Tequilas and Mezcales, is currently cooking up plans to open a brand new restaurant on Ninth Avenue.

Rincon 50 is the latest project from owners Antonio Morales and Angel Argudo, who previously operated Rancho Tequileria on the Upper West Side. Named for a popular beach town and municipality of Puerto Rico, Rincon 50 is expected to serve an eclectic series of small plates, meats, seafood, and rice dishes with a pan-Latin flare. Offering up a diverse selection of tapas including garlic grilled shrimp, tender baby squid, cheese-stuffed jalapenos, chipotle beef meatballs, and an assortment of different chorizo preparations, Rincon 50 will also serve larger dishes like broiled salmon fillets and grilled pork chops.

Moving into the space at 739 9th Avenue, Rincon 50 will be replacing Uncle Mario’s Brick Oven Pizza, which previously operated at the space. Open since 2010, Uncle Mario’s enjoyed over a decade of success in Hell’s Kitchen before complications from the global pandemic rendered the operation impossible. Featuring an ample amount of space for a Hell’s Kitchen restaurant, the space occupied by Uncle Mario’s will be able to comfortably seat up to 46 guests at one time, with additional room for 14 guests around the standup bar.

Prior to opening Rincon 50, Angel and Antonio operated Rancho Tequileria in Hell’s Kitchen and on the Upper West Side. Serving a premium selection of Mezcal and Tequila, Rancho became one of Hell’s Kitchen go-to spots for flavor-packed Mexican Cuisine and expertly mixed Mezcal cocktails. Both Rancho Tequilerias are still going strong today, and if the success of these restaurants is any indication then Rincon 50 is bound to be the next hit restaurant of the neighborhood.
