What to Expect
New vendors include 82 Bowl (Korean BBQ), Ambo (Indian comfort food), and Chenzi (Fuzhou-style street food). Across New York City, the season will include over 50 returning vendors and over 20 newcomers. The weekday hours will make this the first Smorgasburg location that is suited for office lunch crowds.
What began as a one-day experiment by Jonathan Butler and Eric Demby has grown into a widely recognized food market. It now attracts over 2 million visitors each year and has expanded globally. Many vendors in the market have grown into full-service restaurants and packaged-food brands.
Smorgasburg’s move to Columbus Circle marks a major milestone for the market. Its Central Park setting, expanded hours, and growing vendor lineup are expected to enhance the visitor experience.
