A popular Toronto-based modern Mexican restaurant is bringing its authentic flavors to New York City this fall, marking its first U.S. location.
Silent H, owned by Patrick and Nader Marzouk, will debut at 420 W. 13th St. in the Meatpacking District.
The restaurant blends “bold creativity with deep respect for Mexico’s rich gastronomic heritage.” Led by Chef Gerardo Alvarez, the kitchen draws on family recipes inspired by his late grandmother.
“Through every bite, we invite you to experience the soul of his childhood and the enduring spirit of the woman who started it all,” the website reads.
Standout dishes include the Cachetadas de Ribeye, featuring cheese-crusted ribeye slices with avocado, grilled onions and chives on corn tortillas; Pollo Asado, made with recado negro-marinated grilled chicken thighs, guacamole, roasted cherry tomatoes, papatinas, habanero dressing and chives; and Tacos al Pastor, topped with pork belly, salsa verde, onion, cilantro and pineapple.
Silent H also offers a selection of vegetable-forward dishes to accommodate vegetarian and vegan diners.
The restaurant wouldn’t be complete without its regional cocktail menu, featuring a variety of Patrón tequila drinks and a margarita tree, which comes with four margaritas served together.
The team looks forward to expanding its footprint and bringing people together over “vibrant flavors and warm hospitality.”
Silent H plans to host its grand opening in November. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
