One of the nation’s most popular bakery chains is preparing to add a bit of sweetness to the Adams Morgan breakfast scene. Tatte Bakery and Cafe has signed a lease for a new location in the neighborhood, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The Boston-based bakery is moving into the space at 1835 Columbia Road, NW that last housed a Bank of America. While an opening date is still unavailable, the deal is relatively recent, making it improbable that Adams Morgan will sample Tatte’s fare before 2025.

Founded by Tzurit Or in 2007, Tatte has expanded to include 39 locations across the Northeast, primarily within Massachusetts and DC. The bakery offers rotating seasonal menus that utilize fresh, local ingredients.

Tatte strives to create a high quality and dedicated cafe experience. The website describes its mission as: “a passionate and diverse team of chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, cooks, baristas, and café staff brings Tatte to life in neighborhoods throughout Greater Boston, Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.. Even as we grow, our commitment to each other is to own the smallest details, maintain the highest standards, and hold fast to our shared mission: To Inspire, Care for, and Nurture life. Every Day.”
