A popular arcade and bar in Rocklin is working on an expansion. Das Flipperhaus at 4835 Granite Drive in the Rocklin Center Square is working on expanding into the space next door. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.

Co-owners Dallas Drake and Kristofer Vincent opened the principal Das Flipperhaus location in 2022. The space features 23 games, most of which are pinballs, a small bar carrying local beer and wine, and a food menu offering pizza, tater tots, pretzels, and other classic arcade treats. Three years later, Daus Flipperhause is expanding into approximately 1,100 square feet next door. The new space is anticipated to open by the end of August.

“We have been thinking about expanding from day one. We always knew we were smaller than we wanted to be but we were unsure of our concept, and chose that it’s better for the community to have a place that makes it even if it’s small. With this expansion, we can invite even more to experience pinball in the Sacramento area, and expand on some other ideas we had,” Drake told What Now Sacramento in an email.

Although the bigger space does offer the possibility for the arcade to stay open, at least partially, during some special events, the owners choose not to extend the current hours of operation out of consideration for their employees’ wellbeing.

“The hours of operation we currently have give our staff time to enjoy their lives, allow for productive hours for guests, allow private events when we are closed, and have so far proven to be the best choice for our current operations.”

The new space, once completed, will introduce 25 new pinball machines and a couple Skee-Ball games. Drake also generously provided hints on two titles for customers to guess from: “While one is from the 5th dimension, the other is a pinball adventure.”
