Chantilly residents struck by pickleball fever-the current craze that has taken the nation by storm-get ready. Dill Dinkers, a franchise focused on spreading the beloved sport across the nation, is bringing fresh new courts to the area, reports local media outlet FFXNow.
Franchisees Rick and Andriana Solano will be opening the facility at 13954 Metrotech Drive. Pickleball will be a radical departure for the sprawling 30,400-square-foot space, which was previously occupied by Babies ‘R’ Us.
Dill Dinkers was originally set to open its Chantilly location-its second in Virginia, following a Manassas debut-in the winter, however the timeline has shifted for a spring premiere.
Co-owner Andriana Solano believes that locals will find the facility worth the wait. She tells What Now DC: “Chantilly is a perfect fit for pickleball because of the area’s vibrant and growing pickleball community. Despite this enthusiasm, there’s a noticeable lack of high-quality indoor facilities where players can enjoy the sport year-round. Our amazing retail location in Sully Shopping Plaza makes it convenient for players of all levels to come together, rain or shine, in a space dedicated to their love of the game.”
Dill Dinkers’ newest DMV home will provide pickleball enthusiasts with plenty of space to practice and perfect their game. Solano states: “The Chantilly club will feature 10 regulation-sized courts, two championship courts, and a state-of-the-art cushioned surface by Pro-Cushion® that reduces impact and ensures longer, pain-free play sessions. The facility also includes event space, a fully stocked pro shop, and a cutting-edge reservation system powered by CourtReserve for seamless booking by members and visitors alike. Players will have access to clinics, private and semi-private lessons, open play, round robins, leagues, and even rentals for private events. Plus, with climate-controlled indoor courts, players can enjoy the sport year-round without worrying about the weather.”
Northern Virginia pickleball fanatics who find Chantilly too far to travel to indulge in their sport of choice have reason to be optimistic; Solano explains “We’re planning to expand across all of Northern Virginia, with future locations in Leesburg, Ashburn, Reston, Herndon, Fairfax, Tysons, and more. Additionally, Dill Dinkers is developing over 400 clubs nationwide and internationally. One of the best perks is that membership at Dill Dinkers Chantilly gives players access to all Dill Dinkers locations, making it convenient to play wherever they are—even while traveling for work or vacation.”
Chantilly players won’t have to wait too long to check in at Dill; Solano states that she is projecting a spring opening.
