According to an article from Bridgetown Bites, Yum’s of PDX aims to debut in the Buckman area at 830 SE 8th Avenue.

“We can’t wait to welcome you into our new home, in early Spring 2025. Miriam Weiskind began her culinary journey in the world of pizza after spending eight years with @scottspizzatours, where she led Friday tours that explored the history, evolution, and science behind one of the world’s most beloved food groups,” an Instagram post from the company states.

“During the pandemic, Miriam transformed her 350-square-foot Brooklyn apartment into a speakeasy pizzeria, baking and giving away over 5,000 pizzas to support New Yorkers in need. This mission was deeply personal; her mother, Hyla, who died from COVID-19, inspired Miriam to give back to her community. Through her mother’s legacy, Miriam helped to encourage other pizza makers worldwide to give back in similar ways.”

“After helping to launch a budding NYC pizza popup scene alongside other talented makers, Miriam eventually took over restaurants and sought mentorship and more apprenticeships from some of the most esteemed names in the industry.”

“With encouragement from her mentors and family, Miriam relocated to the PNW to begin building her pizza dream, transitioning from @thezareport as a popup to her brick-and-mortar now @yumsofpdx. She looks forward to sharing her passion, love, and artistry in pizza-making with Portland, offering a neo-Neapolitan and Sicilian pizza menu that honors her Brooklyn roots and Italian influences.”
