A popular coffee chain appears to be brewing a new location in South Carolina.
Dutch Bros Coffee has proposed a location in Summerville at 101 Angus Drive, according to construction documents. It would include a drive-thru as well as a walk-up service window.
Founded in 1992, Dutch Bros Coffee grew a large following in the Pacific Northwest and on the West Coast before expanding across the U.S. According to the company, there are about 950 locations across 18 states, as of September 2024. The Oregon-based company started franchising in 1999, but stopped in 2017 in favor of opening only corporate-owned stores.
Dutch Bros Coffee is known for friendly customer service and unique, customizable beverages. The menu includes classic and signature coffee beverages, energy drinks, soda, tea, lemonade and muffin tops.
According to a site map, there are currently no locations in South Carolina.
Summerville isn’t the only place Dutch Bros Coffee could be eyeing in the Carolinas. As reported by What Now Charlotte, the coffee chain is in the early stages of development in Charlotte, North Carolina.
