Schwartz’s Bakery is expanding to a new venture called Schwartz’s Deli & BBQ in Pico-Robinson, located at 8820 W. Pico.

This will become the sixth restaurant for the historical Schwartz Bakery, which first opened in 1954. The family-owned bakery will replace Beverly Hills Appliances at an unknown date and will sit a few buildings away from its 8856 W. Pico location, according to Toddrickallen. Schwartz Bakery was the first kosher bakery in Los Angeles, and the new Schwartz’s Deli & BBQ will continue that legacy. Customers will likely find more meat options at this new location, all being kosher.

The Schwartz family owned and operated the company for 30 years before selling it to The Sibony Family. Under the new management, the company grew in location and products, offering kosher bread, pastries, cakes, danishes, cookies, and more. In 2005, the company decided to complete renovation and remodel to “adapt to the current times.” All of their products are available in one of their five locations, online, or catering.

The Sibony Family expanded Schwartz’s Bakery into a marketplace with almost everything one would need from a deli. Customers can find several kosher items from their deli, butcher, and bakery, as well as more from their grocery, frozen, and wine section. The new Schwartz’s Deli & BBQ will likely focus on their meat selection with a possibility of new menu items to accommodate the BBQ theme.
