A new American-style restaurant called The Craftsman is making its way to Redondo Beach, located at 1817 S Catalina Ave.

Owner John Safar initially hoped to flip the former home of Party House Liquor in Riviera Village and add a new deli and grill. Now, the owner is taking over the former liquor store and turning it into a new restaurant with American-style food, such as specialty artesian sandwiches, burgers, flatbreads, salads, and more. Safar is considering adding some Mediterranean flair to the appetizers. The Craftsman will also have local craft beer on tap and wine.

Safar tells What Now Los Angeles he hopes to open the new restaurant in late Summer 2022. This isn’t the first restaurant for the business owner, who owns another restaurant in another city. Although The Craftsman is a typical restaurant named found in other cities, including Encinitas and Santa Monica, Safar says this one is not affiliated with any of them.

The Craftsman will be moving into a perfect location with plenty of foot traffic. Riviera Village is a hub for fashion and art, with exciting galleries, boutiques, home décor, and a delicious restaurant scene. The area is home to several high-end restaurants for every taste, such as VIDA Modern Taqueria, Avenue Italy, the Rex Seaside Steakhouse, Gabi James, The Hook & Plow, and The Rockefeller.
