The Leon on Ponce mid-rise condo project is heading toward vertical construction, according to a permit application filed last week.

Consistent with plans for the project, which call for 72 units and go back to 2019, the filing details plans for the construction of a four-story multifamily building over a concrete podium at 567 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE, listing a cost of construction of $16 million. The condo development is being led by Urban Eco Group, an Atlanta-based construction company headed by president Dave Radlmann.

Urban Eco Group didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the project, which is being designed by Atlanta-based firm Place Maker Design.

Pricing for the condominiums will range from the $300,000s to the $600,000s for, according to The Leon on Ponce website.

Last month’s permit application follows the September issuing of a permit to construct the condo development’s two-story parking structure. A permit was also issued to prepare the site for development in late 2019.

The Old Fourth Ward project site, which is adjacent to Mister Car Wash, had been used for parking prior to development. It was purchased for $2.14 million in 2019 by a limited liability company registered to the offices of Urban Eco Group, according to Fulton County records.
