Wood Partners has opened Alta East, a 250-unit apartment project within the Atlanta Dairies master development in the Reynoldstown neighborhood, it announced this month.

The five-story project contains a mix of one- through three-bedroom units, with 38, or about 15 percent of the project total, reserved as workforce housing targeting essential workers in the area like nurses, firefighters, and others, Wood Partners announced.

“We are excited to continue to expand our footprint in the highly-competitive Atlanta market,” Wood Partners Managing Director Bennett Sands said in a statement. “This new community is an extremely desirable location for people who are looking to enjoy the opportunities that in-town living offers.”

Alta East marks a second phase of sorts. It is adjacent to the 312-unit Alta Dairies project that Wood Partners completed in 2019. Along with co-owner Diamond Realty, it went on to sell that project earlier this year to Pacific Life Insurance Company for about $85 million, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported in January.

Both projects are part of the Atlanta Dairies master redevelopment, which includes dining and a 2,200-person-capacity concert call.

Located about a quarter of a mile west of the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail, Alta East features amenities including a lounge, game room, business center, co-working spaces, fitness center, and saltwater swimming pool, among others.

The units themselves feature finishes including quartz countertops, as well as stainless steel appliances, private patios and balconies, and pendant lights and ceiling fans.
