Yao, a restaurant fashioned after Bangkok’s Yaowarat neighborhood, is opening to the public on Thursday, August 26, a company spokesperson told What Now Atlanta in an email Monday.
To start, Yao will serve dinner Tuesday through Sunday (the restaurant is closed on Mondays) and add lunch, later on, they said. Yao has both inside and outside dining and is housed at 237 Perimeter Center Pkwy NE, Suite H31, in Dunwoody.
“Yao pays culinary homage to the vibrant Yaowarat neighborhood in Bangkok, an ancient Thai-Chinese community,” according to the restaurant’s website. “As you can imagine, the neighborhood is a paradise for food lovers because this cultural blending has created some of the most delicious eats on Earth. Spicy, crunchy, tangy, and delectable dishes are handed down over many generations.”
“Chef O,” Yao’s executive chef, is from Change Mai, Thailand, and is trained in “Thai Modern,” Thai, and Italian cooking — a combination seen in dishes like the Spaghetti with Northern Thai sausage ($22). Other entrees include Crispy Garlic Chicken ($19) and Duck Fried Rice ($24). Click here for the entire menu.
Tha openstreetmap map oddly does not say MARTA or transit on the various stations. instead jit ust calls them park and ride lots. So the Dunwoody MARTA station across the street from this new restaurant is labeled Dunwoody Park and ride lot.
Beautiful concept to add vibrant diversity to this booming area. Let’s hope it delivers an authentic experience and thrives!
