Feng Cha is setting up a tea house in Duluth. A leasing rep involved in the deal couldn’t speak to an exact opening date but did confirm that the tea shop is coming and said Feng Cha “should be taking delivery” of the space in November.

The location is part of Gwinnett Marketfair, at 3675 Satellite Blvd, and Feng Cha is set to take a space formerly home to Sleek Looks Full-Service Salon, the leasing rep said.

Gwinnett Marketfair features a number of national retailers such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Edible Arrangements, and Starbucks, according to a site plan. Specialty stores include Music Go Round, Hi-Pot, Poke Bar, and Le’s Nail and Spa.

It’s unclear if the planned Duluth tea house is connected to FENG CHA, a tea house chain with the same name that has locations in California, Nevada, Texas and Oklahoma. It’s likely, however. FENG CHA is a rapidly expanding franchise.

Boba tea, also known as bubble tea or boba milk tea, is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan and has grown in popularity over recent years. Many variations have been created, but it mainly consists of black tea, milk, ice, and tapioca pearls.

Many boba tea shop menus also include fresh fruit juices, smoothies, hot teas, and specialty coffees. No word yet on what Feng Cha’s menu will offer.
