Shake Shack is coming to Buckhead’s Lenox Square Mall. It will occupy 1014A, a 1,019-square foot space, in the Fashion Café food court. The brand’s Communications Specialist, Katie Scott, was able to confirm the news in an email to What Now Atlanta.

The latest Atlanta-area Shack is scheduled to open in 2022, but there are no specific details on timing yet.

“We’ve seen great reception from the Buckhead community and we want to continue to build our presence to provide more options for our growing Atlanta community,” Scott said. “We’re thrilled to be joining Lenox Square as an addition to their existing dining options.”

The space that Shake Shack is set to occupy is currently home to Rise Pies, a Youngstown, Ohio-founded pizza restaurant which opened in Lenox in 2016. As of now, Rise is still open and operating so it is not clear when Shake Shack will take over the space and when it does, if Rise will relocate within the mall. Rise did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Like with other food court Shacks, the forthcoming Lenox Square Mall location is expected to offer such options as mobile ordering and delivery.

Shake Shack currently has a total of four restaurants within Atlanta including one that’s already in Buckhead at 3035 Peachtree Road NE. The other three are in Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, Old Fourth Ward, and Perimeter Mall. More Atlanta restaurants are planned including one in Alpharetta and one for Piedmont Park which will include dine-in seating, as well as an outside pickup window.

“We’ve really found a community in our Shack fans there! Atlanta is [a] bustling city full of business, life, and tourism and that type of market continues to be exciting for us,” Scott said.

Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in New York City in 2001. The company has seen steady growth ever since, going public in 2015.
