When ice cream is “splendid,” there’s always room for more. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is planning to open a scoop shop in the Dunwoody development of Ashford Lane, formerly Perimeter Place, per lease intel.
Ashford Lane is located at 4500 Olde Perimeter Way. An opening date for the new shop has not been announced.
“At this time, I cannot confirm a specific location for our next shop,” a spokesperson for the brand told What Now Atlanta via email. “What I can confirm is that we’re scouting more locations for scoop shops in the Atlanta area.”
Current tenants of Ashford Lane include Superica, Sweetgreen, and Brown Bag Seafood. Eateries such as Renzo, Huli Bowl and Fork & Hen are located in The Hall – a full-service food hall that’s set to open next month.
Jeni’s currently has eight scoop shops in the Atlanta area including at Decatur Square, Krog Street Market, and Buckhead Marketplace. The brand also has shops across the U.S. in Texas, Alabama, the Carolinas, Illinois, Ohio, California, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Florida, Missouri, and Washington, D.C.
Founded in 2002 by Jeni Britton Bauer, the brand uses whole ingredients and dairy from grass-pastured cows to make its ice creams. Unique flavors include Mexican Hot Chocolate, Middle West Whiskey and Pecans, Skillet Cinnamon Roll, Sweet Cream Biscuits and Peach, and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries.
“Our ice creams have a uniquely smooth texture and buttercream body, with bright flavor and clean finish (we don’t use synthetic flavorings, dyes, or off-the-shelf mixes),” a statement on the brand’s website reads. “You may notice the absence of a long list of stabilizers and emulsifiers on our label; we prefer the more complex process of building texture and flavor without them.”
Besides its scoop shops, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams ships nationwide and offers local delivery.
Note: Our original report incorrectly stated that Jeni’s was opening in the Sandy Springs neighborhood of Perimeter Place. This report has also since been updated to include comment from Jeni’s.
This is not in Sandy Springs, this is in Dunwoody. Joey D’s it’s not in perimeter place. Shops of Buckhead is 10 miles away and Lenox Square is 7 miles away and are not “close”. Can you please orient your reader to the appropriate places and things?
